Messy Hall On Last Day
resurfaced due to damage
received by the initial construc
tion. Council members were in
formed on other progress made
on the sewer system plant site.
The treatment pond walls are
up and work is progressing on
the sandfilters.
SMOKE MACHINE
Council members also voted
unanimously to purchase a por
table smoke ejector for use by
the Menlo Fire Department.
The cost of the equipment is
$449. This tax money was
donated by Chattooga gounty
Commissioner Harry Powell.
The machine will enable fire
fighters to find the ‘‘heart” of
a fire quicker, thus greatly
reducing water and smoke
damage. The machine is also
designed to prevent back
drafts of smoke and will also
aid in the restriction of actual
flames spreading.
Menlo residents were also
asked by the Council to con
serve water because of the
drought.
