Lyerly Council
Meets Tuesday
Agproval of new drilling
sites for Lyerly's much-needed
wells will [‘;e ti;e main item on
the agenda when the Council
meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Four locations have been
approved by state geologists,
said Mayor Danny Wyatt. Per
mission from two landowners
is being sought so the town can
have wells drilled to supply
water to Lyerly.
Summerville is now pro
viding water to the town. V\galls
drilled this summer during the
drought produced only a few
gallons per minute, an insuffi
cient amount for the town, the
mayor said earlier.
Wyatt also reported that
the overgrown area between
the fence at Angus McLeod
Park and the railroad track is
half completed. Douglas
Moseley is doing that work,
Wyatt said. Wyatt said other
items on the agenda will be
routine.
