The Trion High School 10-Year Class Reunion of 1978
was held recently at the Rome Skytop Holiday Inn. A
sitdown dinner was served followed by guest teachers
who sgoke. Afterwards, awards were given to outstan
ding classmates followed by a dance with music from
the 19705. Pictured from left in the front row are

Art Show Opens
A ‘“‘Shorter Student
Showcase” in the Arnold Art
Gallery, Minor Fine Arts
Building, will open the week
long Inaugural Celebration at
Shorter College at 7 p.m. next
Monday.
The showcase will feature
works of senior art students
Alice Swint and Steve Cole.
Samples of work from all art
courses offered in the cur
riculum will also be on display.
The opening reception will be
from 7 to 7:45 p.m. A Scientific

Local Church Host For
Rosson-Childers Vows
Marian Leona Rosson and
Jimmy Childers were united in
marriafie last Saturday at the
Church of God on Rome
Boulevard, Summerville. The
Rev. Jerry Rutledge Sr. per
formed the double-ring
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of
Annice Jane Wollard, Trion,
Robert Leon Rosson, Summer
ville. The groom is the son of
Mary L. g;rnith Childers and
the late James Marvin
Childers, Trion.
The arch of brass was ac
cented by wedding bells and
blue streamers.
The trinity candle was
lighted by Annice J. Wollard,
mother oty the bride; and Elaine
Hewitt, sister of the groom.
Christy Noel took care of
taped music. “Will You Still
Love Me,” was played while
the mothers’ can(fies were
lighted. Also featured were the
“Wedding March,” and “My
Only Love." The bride and
groom lighted their candle to
the music of “‘Glory of Love.”
The “Bridal Chorus”’ ended the
ceremony.
Attending the guest
register was Francis Smith,
Summerville, aunt of the bride.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her mother, who also
escorted the bride.
The bride chose a blue
bridal dress featuring V
neckline with lace overlay.
Serving as matron of honor
was Velina Teague, sister of
the bride. Shauna Schuggs,
cousin of the bride, serveg as
maid of honor. Both wore blue
gowns and carried bouquets of
blue and white with ribbon
streamers.
The flower girl was Amy
Childers, daughter of the
?room. She wore a white taf
eta covered with lace dress ac
cented with blue. She carried a
basket accented with blue
ribbons.
Greg Teague served as best
man. Jamie Childers served his
father as ringbearer. They
chose blue ang grey as their
colors.
Both mothers wore blue
dresses to the wedding.
Jennifer Parsons, niece of
the bride; and Keith Childers,
son of the groom; served as
train carriers.
A reception was held in the
fellowship hall after the
ceremony.
The %ride’s table held a
three-tiered cake, adorned with
blue top and blue roses.
Cookies, nuts and punch were
served. Those serving were
Francis Smith and Velina
Teague.
They now reside in Trion.
