Gore Revival
Pleasant Grove Baptist
Church in Gore will sponsor a
revival Sunday through next
Thursday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m.
daily.
There will be special music
each night. Messages will be
preached by the Rev. Greg
Thompson, pastor.

Summerville Baptist Church. The Helmsmen quartet
will be featured guest at the silifing. Members of the
firoué) include Jerry Hall, David Hall, Steve Patrick and
andy Hall. The public is invited.

Lead Revival .
Dr. Melvin Wise, an Atlan
ta evangelist, will preach in a
revival at the First Baptist
Church in Summerville Sunday
through Oct. 13.
The revival will begin at 11
a.m. Sunday and continue Sun
day through Thursday at 7:30
.m.
B The music will be directed
by Jerry McGhee, church direc
tor of education, music and
youth.
Since the begining of his
ministry Dr. Wise has been in
demandy as arevival preacher.
After 13 years in pastorates,
including student ministries,
he resigned in 1960 to enter
full-time vocational
evangelism, and he has led over
800 church and community
crusades. He travels over
50,000 miles each year to fulfill
his preaching commitments.
Many of his revivals are return
engagements.
Dr. Wise received his educa
tion at the University of
Georgia in Athens and at
Special Singing
pre-club Grades 1-4 category in the 4-H
Club competition. They are the children
of Mr. ancf Mrs. David Matteson, Lyerly.

several terms as president of
the Conference of (georgia Bap
tist Evangelists and was vice
president of the Georgia Bap
tist Convention. .
At the 1987 Southern Bap
tist Convention in St. Louis,
Mo., he was honored for his
many years of distinguished
service along with Billy
Graham, Cliff Barrows and
Leonard Sanderson. He and his
wife, Emily have organized and
led more than 40 Christian
tours to the Holy Land and
other parts of the world.
Special features related to
the Summerville revival will in
clude High Attendance Day in
Sunday School, a youth pizza
supper at 6:30 p.m. Mond%y; a
children’s hamburger supper at
6:31(3).m. Tuesday, followed by
a children’s pack-a-pew night in
the revival service; a chur
chwide fellowship supper at
6:30 p.m. Wednesday; and a
senior adult program by Dr.
Wise at 11 a.m. Tfi{lrsday, Oct.
13, followed by lunch.
Special music for the
revival will be by the church’s
revival choir and individuals
and groups from the church
choir. Members of the Chat
tooga High School Chorus will
be'specij guests for the Mon
day night events, and will pro
vide special music in the
service. o "

children up to age 3 for each
service. b
