Fighting Fires
Cpl. Kenneth D. Oates was
one of more than 2,000 soldiers
from the 9th Infantry Division,
Fort Lewis, Wash., who
assisted in extin%xishing fires
on almost one million acres of
land in the Yellowstone Park
area.
Soldiers joined civilian
crews in extinguishing the
Storm Creek Fire, Cooke City,
Wyo., and the North Fork Fire,
Madison Junction, Wyo.
Oates, a squad leader, is the
son of Margene E. Dover, 410
Bellah Ave., Summerville.
He is a 1984 graduate of
Chattooga High School.

The Georgia Tech Research
Laboratory will have charge of
the program during next
week's meeting of the board of
directors of the Chattooga
County Chamber of Commerce
at the M&M Restaurant,
Summerville.
The board will meet at 7:30
a.m. Tuesday.
Radio station WGTA will
host the breakfast session.
New directors will be in
troduced and officers for 1989
will be elected during the
session.
The board will also consider
revision of its bylaws and the
progosed 1989 budget may be
studied.
The Christmas parade will
be discussed, said é)ue Spivey,
executive vice president of the
Chamber.

Georgia Crisis Pregnancy
Center, Economy Street,
Summerville.
Beginning next Mon
day, the center will be
open from 9 am. to 5 p.m.
Monday through Thurs
day. It will be closed on
Friday.
DUI Report
Three motorists were ar
rested on charges of driving
under the influence (DUI) of in
toxicants duriné the past week
in Chattooga Ountfi', accor
ding to jail reports. They were:
gamuel McNeese, 41, Trion
Rte. 1, who was also charged
with not having proof of in
surance; Les Jones, 30, 542 W.
Pine St., Trion, who was also
charged with driving on the
wrong side of the road; and
Alfred Lewis Brown, 21, 801
W. Washington Ave., Summer
ville, who was also charged
with driving too fast for
conditions.

It being brought to the attention of the Commis
sioner that certain vehicles and other equipment
are beyond repair, we class these as junk and are
offering same to the public as junk, with no war
ranty of any description. Sale will be advertised
four consecutive weeks in the official legal organ
of Chattooga County, The Summerville News.
Sale will be held on the first Tuesday of
December, 1988, on the lot behind the Ambulance
Service, at 10:00 o’clock a.m. All bids will be made
on the lot as same as a Sheriff's Sale. Each article
will be sold separately and will be sold “as is”.
This notice and sale will be handled under the law
given by the County Commissioner’s Handbook,
Carl Vinson Institute. Articles must be moved
within ten days and payment made before
removal.
This notice entered into the minutes of Chattooga
County on page number 215 of the Chattooga
County Commissioner's Minute Book this 18th
day of October, 1988.
