Don Autry Sr., 40, 209 Con-
Eress St., Summerville, died in

. He was born Sept. 1, 1948
in Chickamauga, son of
Aramandus Autry and Evelyn
Charlsie Crowder. He was a
member of Subligna Baptist
Church and a construction
worker as a welder. He served
as a Marine.
He is survived by his
widow, Mrs. Shirley Womack
Autry; mother, Mrs, Evelyn
Autri;. Atlanta; three
daui ters, Susan Autry,
Chickamauga, Tammy Autry,
Summervifie. and Lynette
Miller, Rome; one son, Don
Autry Jr., Summerville; one
brother, Leon Autry, Atlanta;
several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, in
Subligna Baptist Church with
the I%:vs. Igen Johnson and
Robert Park officiating.
~ Interment was in Subligna
Cemetery. .

charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mari Jo Turner
Bowers, 64, 1208 S. Pine St,
Trion, died at 3:04 a.m. Satur
day, March 25, in a Rome
hosgital.
he was born in Turner
County on Dec. 23, 1924. She
was a daughter of the late
Joseph and Della Moss Turner.
Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker
and a member of the Trion
First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her widower,
John H. Bowers; two
daughters, Mrs. Lola Drum
mond, Atlanta, and Mrs. Pat
Parris, Trion; two sons, Johnny
Bowers, Summerville, and Jets
Bowers, Trion; two half sisters,
Inez Cantrell, Trion, and Alma
Croy, Virginia; one aunt, Mrs.
Beula Vinson, Eagle Lake, Fla.;
12 grandchildren, seven great
grandchildren; several nieces
and nephews. .
Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Monday, March 27 in
the chapel of Erwin-Petitt
Funeral Home with the Rev.
Jim Cordell officiating.
Interment was in Trion
Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were
David Parris, Mat Drummond,
John Bowers, Ross Powell,
Mike Bowers and Larry
Bowers.

Coleman
Clarence Coleman, 73,
Rome, formerly of Tampa, Fla.,
died Thursday, March 23.
Mr. Coleman was born on
Jan. 31, 1916, son of the late
William W. and Dayton Powell
Coleman.
Surviving are his widow.

Madison County, on Sept. 8,
1909, daughter of the late
Daniel May and Cornelia Ann
Deadwyler. She was a retired
school teacher, a member of
Summerville First Baptist
Church and a member o? the
Philathea-Lydia Sunda
School Class. Her husband, Edy
ward T. Copeland Sr., died
( earlier.
She is survived by three
sons, Edward T. Coleman Jr.,
Destin, Fla., Hugh L. Coleman,
Alexandria, Va., and Emmett
Coleman, Summerville; one
sister, Mrs. Kathryn Clarkson,
Summerville; one step
daughter, Mrs. Ruth E.
Garnett, Charleston, S. C.; 11

Robert Paul Copeland, 86,
died Thursday, March 23, in
Tri-County Hospital.
He was born in Cherokee
County, Ala., Jan. 28, 1903,
son of the late Frank Copeland
and Maggie Teague Copeland.
His wife, Mrs. Ola B. Copeland,
died in May, 1986. A son,
Robert Lee Copeland, died
earlier.
He is survived by three
daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Ruth
Tucker and Mrs. Jewel
McCollum, Summerville, and
Mrs. Maggie Thomas, Menlo;
four sisters, Mrs. Lena
McCrickard and Mrs. Willie
Anderson, Lyerly, Mrs. Mamie
Whitfield, gummerville, and
Mrs. Nellie Kirby, Seal Beach,
Calif.; two brothers, Johnny
Copeland, Ringgold, and Lee
Copeland, Summerville; five
grandchildren, nine great
grandchildren; nieces and
nephews. s
Funeral services were held
at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25,
in the Hill Chapel of Lane
Funeral Home with the Revs.

He was a cabinet maker by
trade.
He is survived by his

daughter, Mrs. Dorisetta
Soule, Mokena, 1ll.; two somns,
Thomas Arthur Cumbaa,
Houston, Texas, and James
Richard Cumbaa, Summerville;
one sister, Mrs. Gaynelle Thor

grandchildren; nieces and

Yuel Oscar Hall, 76, 314
Union St., Summerville, died at
6 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, at
his residence.
He was born in Jackson
County, Ala., June 27, 1912,
son of the late Oliver and An
na Hall. Mr. Hall was a retired
rock mason and farmer. He
was a member of the Free
Holiness Church.
Surviving are his widow,
Mrs. Eula Carol Hall, Summer
ville; two daughters, Hazel
Hall, Cartersville, and Mrs.
Velma Brooks, Summerville;
four sons, Clemmons Hall and
Lloyd Hall, Gaylesville, Ala.,
Clayton Hall, Cartersville, and
Ronnie Hall, Summerville; four
sisters, Mrs. Gladys Goss,
Mrs. Dora Lee Schrader and
Mrs. Eunice Strickland, Men
tone, Ala., and Mrs. Eva Mae
Parker, Fort Payne, Ala.; 20
grandchildren, five great
grandchildren; several nieces
and nephews.
Funeral services will be held
at 11 a.m. (CST) today, March
30, in Little River Church with
Brothers Jackie Young and
Windel Bates officiating.
Interment will be ingLittle
River Cemetery, Mentone, Ala.

ment Academy winner in
science. She was nominated by
her teacher, David Snow. She
is the daughter of Phyllis

Spriggs Paving Co., Rome,
submitted an apparent low bid
of $205,045.59 for resurfacing
several streets and roads in
Chattooga County.
The bid was opened last Fri
day by the Georgia Depart
ment of Transportation (DOT)
in Atlanta. The DOT is ex
pected to decide on lettering a
contract at 11 a.m. Friday.
The state plans to pay for
the resurfacing of 9.73 milZas of
roadway on Dry Creek Valley
Road and streets in Summer
ville, Trion and Menlo.
