Indians Win Matches

The Chattooga Indians
wrestling team competed in
two matches over the
Christmas holidays. The In
dians won their tri-team match
iavfainst Coosa, 48-27 and
odel 38-36. The Indians were
also invited to Rockmart's
Yellow Jacket Invitational
tournament.
Chattooga hosted
LaFayette and Cartersville on

the Northwest Georgia Invita
tional this weekend.

The greatest feeling in the world is giving to those
in need, and Chattooga County should feel wonder
ful. Last year the North Ga. Cruisers gave over
$1,500.00 to the needy children in Chattooga Coun
ty. This year we have doubled that! Thanks to all
area merchants and individual persons who gave
donations on tickets, had their cars washed; visited
our car shows or just simply donated money out of
the goodness of their hearts! Who says there’s no
SANTA? There’s one where we live. Over $4,000.00
worth of toys were given because you cared. God
bless each and every one of you throughout the year
and for years to come. :

High school basketball games resumed this week, after
Chattooga and Trion returned from Christmas holidays.
Chattooga played at East Rome on Tuesday, and Trion
at Gordon Lee. Results were unavailable Wednesday
morning. ,
Trion will plzy at Armuchee Friday, and host Bremen
at 7 g.m. Saturday. )
Chattooga will play at Murray County on Saturday, and
host Adairsville at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Prediction Results
Chattooga High School’'s head football coach had the
best prediction record of winners of the college bowl games
of three local coaches who gicked winners.
Ron Williams chose eight winners of 14 bowl (g:'ames
layed during the past two weeks. Williams, Tab Gable,
g‘rion High'siead coach, and Melvin Mosley, Chattooga’s
assistant head coach, firedicted winners in the Dec. 26 issue
of The Summerville News.
Gable and Mosley were 7-6, and Williams was 8-5. The
14th game was the Holiday Bowl, which ended in a tie.
