Trion’s varsity wrestling

week, while its middle school
team was still looking for its
first win.
The varsity wrestlers im
proved to 6-0 last Thursday,
JV Girls Win
The Chattooga girls’ junior
varsity basketball teams won
two games during the past
week. On Tuesday against
East Rome.
The girls defeated East
Rome, 35-31, on Tuesday, and
beat Murray County, 41-24, on
Saturday. garla Lowrance was
the high scorer with 10 points.
The boys’ team lost both
games. Coach Nick DeLucco
refused to provide scores or
information.
Middle School Basketball
Trion's middle school
basketball teams will host
Baylor at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
The teams hosted LaFayette
last Thursday.
The boy's team was
defeated, 51-44, dr(’)F}{)ing to 2-4

are seventh graders, first-year
wrestlers,”” Daffron said.
“They’ve made a lot of im
provement, and I’'m looking for
them to come out next year for
us to have a much-improved
team.”
Trion’s varsity team was to
wrestle at Calhoun and East
Rome Wednesday, and will
enter the Dalton Carpet Classic
tournament this weekend.
Gun Club Meeting
The Northwest Georgia
Gun Club will meet at 7 p.m.
Wednesday at the Cedartown
library. TKe meeting will be
about organizing a shooting
event and gun show in Nor
thwest Georgia.

The Trion Bulldogs claimed
their third win of the season,
defeatixfi Bremen Saturday,
56-44. The team lost to Pep
perell on Friday, 42-38.
Trion had an opportunitly to
beat Pepperell, having the lead
in the ?inal 20 seconds. But
Trion turned the ball over, and
Pepperell tied the score, then
won on two free throws.
Roone Gable was the high
scorer, with 12 points, and
Justin Brown scored nine.
Kris Willis scored 19 points
against Bremen, and Gable
scored 10. It was Trion’s se
cond win against the Blue

Two members of the Chattooga Indians wrestlinf team
won their weight classes in the Northwest Georgia Invita
tional last weekend. The team placed eighth of 18 teams.
Chris Thompson and Jon Lawrence were the only two
Chattooga wrestlers to place first. They were the only two
wrestlers that placed coming from the Northwest Georgia
area who g/llaced first.
Coach Mike Miller said, “The wrestling team is doing
well, but we are still short on wrestlers.”
The Indians will compete Friday and Saturday in the
Carpet Classic Invitational at Dalton.
