Trion to reach the landfill on
Penn Bridge Road.
The bridge was closed on
Dec. 17 after a DOT inspection
termed it unsafe. The commis
sioner hired Stan Cook and
Evans Welding Co. to perform
the needed work on an
emergency basis without bids.
Such work is permitted by
state law. An exact cost of the
work was not known late last
week.
“GREAT JOB”
The DOT described the ef

%reat job,”” Commissioner
arker said.
The county had strengthen

past summer and the span was
inspected at that time by the
DOT. The commissioner said
the DOT at that time did not
mention the metal trusses as
needing repair work.
