ONE SPIRIT :
There is one Spirit, as Ephesians 4:1-6 states. He the
Spirit is the immediate Agent in regeneration, uniting
each individual to the Head, and as Sanctifier, main
tains that union. The Holy Ghost dwelling in the
believer gives rise to the same aspirations, to the same
anticipation of the same glorious inheritance, and call
ed to the inheritance of the saints in light. The Spirit
is the guarantee and a foretaste of our future
inheritance.

GOING TO HEAVEN,
WHAT HEAVEN?
So you are going to heaven? The Bible speaks of at least
three heavens, “. .. such an one caught up to the third
heaven” (Il Cor. 12:2). The apostle Peter tells us, ‘‘But the
day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in thee which
the heavens shall pass away with a great noise’’ (Il Peter
3:10). Jesus said, “...heaven and earth shall pass
away . .."” (Matt. 24:35). :
Second Peter 3:13 infers that heaven passed away
because it was filled with wickedness. Surely this is not the
heaven where God dwells.
I would like to sincerely ask; where does the Bible pro
mise man an inheritance of HEAVEN?
When Jesus made the New Testament as found in the
four gospels, | failed to find where He promised the disciples
they would inherit heaven.
He did say, “In my Father's house are many man
sions . . ."”" (John 14:2); but He did not say, | go to prepare
a mansion for you. They already existed. They are in the
Father’s house. What is the Father’s house?
The Father’s house is the church of God that Jesus pur
chased with His own blood. See | Timothy 3:15; Eph. 2:21;
Heb. 3:1-6.
Our inheritance is based upon the promises made to
Abraham through his seed which was Jesus. Gal. 3:16.
“And if ye be Christ's then are ye Abraham’s seed, and
heirs according to the promise.” Gal. 3:29.
Paul said of the promise made to Abraham, ““For the pro
mise that he should be the heir of the world, was not the
Abraham, or his seed through the law, but through the
righteousness of faith.”” Rom. 4:13.
The angel told the virgin Mary of her future Son Jesus,
“He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest;
and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father
David.
And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and
of his kingdom there shall be no end.” (Luke 1:32-33).
The throne of David was on earth. So to reign with Christ,
who is coming again, we will have to remain on the (earth
made new).
When Jesus was making the New Testament He said,
“‘Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth’’ Matt.
5:5. No promise of heaven.
The Bible plainly tells us of a second coming of our Lord.
It tells us the righteous will be resurrected to eternal life at
that time. See | Thess. 4:13-18; | Cor. 15:20-23, 51-58.
The New Testament promises a restoration of that which
was lost in Adam.
Not only a redemption of man from sin, but a redemption
and restoration of the home God gave man in the beginning
—the earth made new.
The word HEAVEN means “‘a ruling element’’ when the
earth is made new the ruling element of divine authority will
rule from sea to sea, and unto the end of the earth. That rul
ing element will be a heaven on earth.
The signs of our time tell us this great change is about
to take glwo right here on this earth. ARE YOU READY FOR
THAT GREAT EVENT?

7 ... the Lord Jesus shall

mmL flaming fire taking
vengeance on them that

Lord Jesus Christ.”
E 2 THESSALONIANS 1:7-8
Last week’s insight reminded us that the final judgment
will be a time when God will take vengeance ugon certain
individuals. Exactly who that will be is the su ject of our
next two insights. “. . . Taking vengeance on them that
know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ:”” Vengeance wifl be meteg out to those who
don’t know and to those who don't do!
“.. . Them that know not God. . .” Ignorance of God
and of His instructions and commands as to how we must
worship and serve Him will not spare one from divine
vengeance. When Paul spoke to tflose of Athens [acrs
17:2231) concerning a God worshipped in }Fnorance fverse 23}, he
concluded his remarks thusly: “And the times of this ig
norance God winked at; but now commandeth all men
everywhere to repent . . ." (verse 30, The reason for this world
wide edict is given in the next verse: “Inasmuch as he hath
appointed a £y in the &uture which he will judge the world
is righteousness . . ."’ When the Lord Jesus Christ returns
in flaming fire, it will be tojudfie all men — those who know
God and ncknowledfie Him as God — and those who do not!
God provided the BIBLE so that we need not be ig
norant: either of Him or what He req}t‘xires of us. Only by
learning and obog’ing that which God has provided can we
hope to escape the vengeance that will come upon *“Them
that know not God."
