Trion Girls Lose To State-Ranked Team
*Coach (Tab) Gable and our
administration are committed
to getting a %uality basketball
program at Trion. It’s not go
ing to work if the coaches are
the only ones who want the
things that need to happen.
“‘But we are now getting to
the point that our kids want
those same things, and that's
the reason I believe in the
future, Trion is going to have
one of the finest basketball pro
grams in this part of the
state.”
Adairsville’s Casey Smith
and Michelle Adcock combined
for 23 of their team’s Eoint;s.
“They were shooting the ball

game.
Twelve of Adairsville's 18
fourth quarter points came on
free throws. They made 19 of
27, while Chattooga made 10 of
19.
“They could not miss one
from the foul line, and we
couldn’t make a foul shot in the
fourth quarter,” said Turner.
Kim Price fouled out for Chat
tOOfa, and ‘‘after that we
couldn’t put the ball in the
basket.” g
Miss Price was Chattooga’s

LaFayette Frid
The Chattooga Indians will try Friday for their third
win against LaFayette this season.
The two teams will meet in the sub-region tournament
at Model at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Chattooga had a bye in the
first round, and EaFayette defeated host Model, 72-68 in
overtime Tuesday.
“It's always hard to beat a team for the third time,”
said coach Don Henderson. If the Indians win Friday, they
will advance to the sub-region championship and
automatically earn a spot in the region tournament.
LaFayette ‘“‘looks good,”” Henderson added. He is con
cerned because the Insians have not played since Feb. 11.
“A layoff always makes you rusty.”
Henderson asked for fans to support the team by at
