Info Needed
For New Guide
Shorter College is seeking
Chattooga County residents
and communities to contribute
information for ‘‘“The New
Georgia Guide,” a publication
to encourafie visitors to in
vestigate the state’s historic
roots and modern treasures.
To be available in time for
the 1996 Olympic Games, the
Bublication will offer visitors a
road view of the state’s cities,
towns and rural areas.
The aim is to lead readers to
new areas by way of the in
terstate highways, then entice
them to leave the expressways
and visit smaller neighbor
hoods, cities and towns whose
attractions offer a pleasant
contrast to the bustle of
downtown Atlanta.
A major portion of the book
will focus on the varied regions
of Georgia. Two questions that
residents can reply to are:
(1) What historic, natural
and recreational sites would
you like a newcomer to see in
the county? Why?
(2) Are you affiliated with
an important institution or
organization in your communi
ty? If so, send a coEy of any re
cent flyer or brochure. If not
available, send a brief descrip
tion (300 words or less) about
the institution or organization,
with the address and phone
number.
Replies should be sent to
Dr. Alice Taylor-Colbert,
Shorter Colle&e, 315 Shorter
Ave., Rome, GA 30165-4298.
She is an assistant professor of
history at Shorter, and the
Northwest Georgia area coor
dinator for the guide.

. INCENTIVE
“This program provides in

in and you’ll get the real answer in a hurry. It's up to
you--send your money to the IRS or save it in an IRA.
Want another tax break? People who have a Home

that loan from their 1993 taxable income--you could
next year. Your tax advisor can tell you more. We'll
