Trion Teams
In Tournament
The Trion Bulldogs and
Ladl}; Bulldogs will play Fndax
in the first round of the 6-
North Sub-Region tournament
at Adairsville.
Trion’s girls will J)lay
Adairsville at 7 p.m., and the
b(l)fi's’ fiame against Calhoun
will follow at 8:30 p.m. The
Lady Bulldogs, boasting a 14-8
record, finished second in the
sub-region, while the Bulldogs
finished third, after a 5-15
season.
Both ended their regular
seasons last week with losses
to Adairsville. The girls’ team
was defeated, 30-24, and the
boys lost, 64-62, in overtime.
Each had beaten Adairsville
sarlier in the season.
The Bulldo%f led
Adairsville throughout the
first half of last week’s game,
taking a 13-7 first quarter lead.
Trion was still leading by a
smaller margin at halftime,
20-16, but the Tigers took the
lead away in the third period
and went up, 36-33.
Trion rallied in the final
quarter, ending with a three
pointer by Shane Cook and a
goal by Jy ason Park that tied

by five on scores by Adam
Lathem in the extra period.
With 23 seconds left,
Adairsville had tied the score
again, then tossed in a basket
with 11 seconds on the clock.
Adam Lee scored 13 points
to lead Trion, followed by Park
and Cook with nine each.
The Lady Bulldogs fared no
better against Adairsville, as
the Lady Tigers took the ad
vanta'g:l, then stalled to pre
vent Trion from scoring.
Up by one point at hafifnm' e,
Adairsville held Trion scoreless
in the third period and had
gone up by nine at the start of
the fourth. The Lady Bulldogs
took the lead briefly in the last
Eeriod, 22-20, but Adairsville
eld them off and went on to
win, 30-24.
“We really didn’t play
well,” said coach Tab Gable.
““We turned the ball over too
many times.”
Trion’s scoring was led by
Lauren Evans and Alison
Butler, with eight points each.
Brandi Pewitt contributed six.
