Georgia Department Transportation
(GDOT) is announcing a series of seminars that
will deal with wetland mitigation. All parties
involved in land acquisition are invited to

uring ongoing statewide road projects,

cur. Federal law requires that many of t.{nese
wetlands be compensated for bf' the restora
tion of previously existing wetlands.
These seminars will detail the
characteristics needed for potential sites to be
considered for restoration. Seminars will be
held at 12 locations across the State. The goal
ofthesemiwsiswpmvidenflinmuwdpar
ties the oggommity to more fully understand
the GDOT's need and possibly assist GDOT
in locating suitable sites.

We are asking bids on meals to feed Chat
tocga County jail inmates. The meals are to be fur
nished three times daily and are to be picked up
by Sheriff's Department personnel at approx
imately 7:30 a.m., 12 noon, and 5:30 p.m. daily. The
number of meals will vary from day to day and will
be called into the food establishment by the
Sheriff’'s Department at approximately 7 a.m.,
11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. At present, approximately 50
inmates are incarcerated; however, this number
will vary. Coffee or milk shall be made available to
be served with breakfast, coffee or tea is to be
served with the other two meals. There shall be no
more than seven (7) hours between meals. The
diet shall conform to the Georgia Dietetic
Association Diet Manual and shall include a
minimum of 3,100 calories daily. The provider
shall furnish to the Commissioner, in advance,
weekly meal plans and menus which have been
approved in writing by a licensed or-registered
dietician or nutritionist. The provider shall furnish
written certification from such dietician or nutri
tionist to the Commissioner. All food shall be
served at appropriate temperatures in covered
plastic containers equivalent to Aladdin con
tainers produced by Synergetics Inc. of Nashville,
Tennessee. The provider shall furnish drinking
cups, eating utensils, and individual packets of
salt and pepper with this service. The service shall
be on a ninety (90) day agreement which shall in
clude all holidays within that ninety (90) day
period and shall begin on March 10, 1994.
