Week Of Foon
The students in the Chat
tooga County school system and
Trion City school district are
cooking up a week of heart
healthy fun as they prepare for
the American Heart
Association’s “School Nutrition
Heart Week” Feb. 7-11. The
weeklong event is a collaborative
effort between the American
Heart Association and USDA’s
Team Nutrition, made possible
by a five-state grant from
Piccadilly Cafeterias, Inc.
School Nutrition Heart
Week includes heart-healthy
menus, promotional materials
and activities that link nutrition
education in the classroom with
healthy meals being served in the
cafeteria. School Nutrition Heart
Week is special because it
teaches each student to become
more aware of foods that are
more healthy or heart-smart.
The American Heart
Association’s classroom materi
als can be used to educate the
students on nutrition while serv
ing up some very tasty heart
smart meals in the cafeteria.
