Oak View Presented First Place Plaques, Trophy
The Oak View Nursing and Rehabilitation
Memory Walk team was presented two
plaques and the first place tro[?hy for raising
the most money in t%e Northwest Georgia
area Tuesday by the Northwest Georgia
Alzheimer’s Assn. The team raised $7,238.54
for the Memory Walk to aid the Alzheimer’s

For Seniors Set
Do you have questions
about your income taxes? Would
you like assistance with complet
ing your 1999 federal and state
income taxes?
Maxine Palmour, Local Co
ordinator for the AARP Tax
Counseling for the Elderly (TCE),
announces that volunteers will be
at the Chattooga County Library
on Farrar Drive in Summerville to
assist senior citizens and other
low to moderate income taxpay
ers.
The TCE program has been
in Chattooga County for 18 years.
Volunteer counselors have been
trained in cooperation with the
Internal Revenue to assist citizens
with basic federal and state
forms.
Beginning Friday, volunteers
will be at the %ibrary on Monday
and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
to provide assistance. During
March, assistance will be by ap
pointment. On April 3,7, 10, and
14 counselors will be available
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the li
brary.

. The Trion Lady Bulldogs were honored as the
December Team of the Month by the Northwest
Georgia Tip-Off Club. Also honored was Coach
Lamar Turner of the Lady Bulldogs who was named
one of the Coaches of the Month.
Players from Chattooga High School and Trion
High School picked as Players of the Month were
Miranda Turner and Quincy McCutchins of Trion
High School and Porcha Underwood and Michael
Covington of Chattooga High School.

Trojans, 73-43 Tuesday at Gor

The Lady Bulldogs trailed
after the first quarter 11-9 but
built a slim, 26-19 lead by half
time.
