Sexual Assault Center
Sets Volunteer Training
Did you know that one of
every three women and one of
every 10 men are sexually as
saulted at some point in their
lifetimes? There is something
you can do to help.
The Sexual Assault Center of
Northwest Georgia is holding
volunteer training sessions be
ginning Tuesday. The 25-hour
training will prepare interested
women and men for volunteer
ing with The Center in a variety
of ways.
Volunteer opportunities in
clude: answering the 24-hour
crisis hotline, hospital accompa
niment, public sggaking to com
munit{ groups about preventinfi
sexual assault, assisting wit
community awareness cam
paign, court advocacy, and pro
vidin§ support for survivors and
their families.
The Center needs volunteers
with a wide range of talents and
interests. Both women and men
are encouraged to ftget involved.
