“Mom, | don’t want to take my medicine. It tastes yukky!”
“Please take it. It's good for you!”
How many times did we hear that as a youngster? Yet, we
didn’t have a whole lot of choice, if we were going to get better.
As adults, we often have a sense of déja vu when faced with a
distasteful situation which gives us little choice but to take a
deep breath and “swallow hard.” Yet, in hindsight, we often find
that we become more complete and confident people as a result.
A wise First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt said, “You have to
accept whatever comes and the only important thing is that you
meet it with courage and the best that you have to give.” We read
in Psalm 31:24... “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen
your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”
Grow in courage as you worship each week. Then you can
take whatever comes your way. It might just be good for you.
