Have You Prayed Today?
By VINCENT T.
HARDEN
Spirit and Truth Assembly of
Jesus Ministries
There are so many people
who talk to everybody and every
thing except God.
sl'here are also those who
will not talk to anybody not even
God. Then there are those who
talk to you only when they think
it will benefit them or some one
they like. We, as believers in
Jesus Christ should always talk
to God. Prayer is a holy conver
sation with our Father (God).
When you know Jesus, the Son,
God becomes your Father.
God loves talking to us. We
should love talking to God. We
must not forget that God is
LOVE. When you talk to God and
God talks to you, that is love talk
ing. Prayer is not always easy.
The devil and others will inter
fere and try to keep you from
talking to an almigi\ty. loving,
powerful God.

We should pre&y about ev
e?'thing. We should talk to God
all the time because no one can
listen like God or talk to you like
God can. Jesus teaches us how
to pray and Jesus prayed the
greatest prayer I have ever heard
or read in John 17:1-26. Jesus
prayed for you and for me. We
must be like Jesus and ‘})ray ev
er¥day for everybody. Your life
will be sweet, you'll have joy com
plete, your faith will be strong
when you pray.
So, have you prayed today?
I talked to the Lord today;
And the Lord showed me
the way,
I prayed to God today;
And he made everything
okay!

Huggins Honored
For Drug Vote
The Council for Citizens
Against Government Waste
(CCAGW), and its 10,700 mem
bers in Georgia have com
mended Senator Sonny Huggins,
D-LaFayette, for
voting with the citizens of Geor
gia” by rejecting SB 239.
T{\e bill would have created
abarrier to gettinF less expensive
but safe and effective generic
drugs.
“THANKFUL”
“The citizens of District 53
and of the entire state of Georgia
should be thankful that Senator
Hué;gins is looking out for them
and their wallets,” said Tom
Schatz, CCAGW president. “SB
239 would have created a mecha
nism by which it would have
been practically impossible to
substitute a less expensive ge
neric for certain prescription
drugs. We have seen similar leg
islation all over the country and
have testified before legislatures
and pharmacy boards on exactly
this Issue.”
Certain brand-name drug
com?anies are lobbying state
legislatures to create a list of
drugs to flrevent generic substi
tution,” he said. “While these
comianies cite safety as a reason
for these lists, the real story is
they are simply trying to protect
market share because they are
facing competition for the first
time.
FDA
The U.S. Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) approves
all drugs, including generics, for
the marketplace, he said. All ge
neric drugs must go through ex
tensive tests to make sure they
are safe and effective.
When the FDA says a %e
--neric drug is therapeutically
equivalent to a brand name drug,
there is no scientific reason why
they cannot be substituted for
one another, Schatz said. Fur
thermore, this type of law is un
necessary. A doctor can always
prevent substitution by simply
checking a box on the prescrip
tion slip, which says Brand Nec
essary, he said.

Eins vigilance, Georgia citizens

Schatz said. “CCAGW and its

Having the%Faith to Fly
For centuries, mankind had dreamed of flying like the birds through the endless
sky. Unfortunately those attempts failed, sometimes with disastrous consequences.
Yet, man continued to dream, certain that he must be more ingenious than the birds.
Finally, early in the twentieth century, the brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright
flew after innumerable attempts. Taking off down this slope where their monument
now stands, they succeeded where others had failed. What faith they must have had
to believe that they could do what no man had done!
Isaiah 40:31 promises us: “They who wait for the Lord shall renew their
strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.”
You have more potential than you realize. You must use the gifts God has given
you, and have faith in His Word. Worship this week. You will meet others who will
encourage and counsel you. You will find the faith to fly toward your dream.
