Thanksgiving day was generally ob
•served in Dalton Thursday in various
ways. There were services at St. Marks
by Rev. J. B. Craighiil ami the Vnion
Services at the First Baptist church were
conducted by Rev. J. R. Speck, assisted
by the Reverends Shelton, Quillian ami

Throughout the city tine dinners were
prepared and fully enjoyed.
At the Lewis House an elegant ri.ieml
was served to the regular guests and a
number of invited guests. 1
A special dinner at 8 p. tn. was served
by Manager Belding at Hotel Dalton to
the North Georgia mineral syndicate.

Mrs. Mattie Reynolds and Mrs. J. W
Barrett celebrated the day’ around one
festive board, which is a good precedent
for neighborly neighbors. Mrs. - Rey
nolds, who as a charming hostess, Lad
already such an excellent reputation,

line. Thp feast was indeed one fit for
the gods. The traditional, turkey, am
brosial food and all other delicacies that
are pleasing to the palate were served.
