A NARRATIVE OF WOMAN’S ILLS.

The large, pretentious brick residence at
86 Miami avenue, in this city, is the home
of the heroine of this interesting storv.
She is Miss Margaret Stenbaugh, and her
experiences during the past four years are
published here for the first time.
Miss Stenbaugh is a pretty girl of about
20 years and is to-dav the true pietun* of
the ideal, healthy, robust and jovial Ameri
can girl. She was not always so, as is
proven by the accompanying statement
made by her.
“ Four years ago,” she said, I was such a
scrawny, puny little midget, pale and ema
ciated by an ailment peculiar to us women,
that my father and mother gave me up to
die. The looal practitioner, whose name
was Dr. Glasiford, (I was at that time living
at Scotland, Ont.,) said it was only a matter
of days when I would be laid away in the
churchyard. “ I could not walk. l‘ became
so weak, and regularly every night my
father used to carry me up stairs to my
room. I can distinctly remember my tell
ing him that he wouldn’t have to carry me
about much longer, and how he said, while
the tears glistened in his eyes, that he
would be willing to do it always, if he
could only have me with him.
“ At this time, I read, or was told by some
body, of the wonderful cures that were being
wrought by Dr. Williams’ Pink Pills for
Pale People, and my father went to Brant
ford, where he purchased a couple of boxes
from W. Wallace. I commenced taking
them, and I th ought for a time that they did
me no good, but very shortly I noticed a great
change. They began to act on my trouble,
and in the short space of six weeks I was
able to walk. 1 confinued taking the pills,
and in six months I was in the condition
you see me now. I fully believe that they
alone saved me from the grave, and you wifi
always find myself and the balance of our
family ready to talk about the good Dr.
Williams’ Pink Pills did f>r me.”
Sworn to and subscribed before me this
15th day of December, 1893.
D. A. Delaney, Notary Public,
Wayne Co., Michigan,
An analysis of Dr. Williams’Pink Pills
for Pale People shows that they contain,

blood and restore shattered nerves. They are
an unfailing specific forsuch diseases as loco
motor ataxia, partial paralysis, St. Vitus’
dance, sciatica, neuralgia, rheumatism, ner
vous headache, the after effects of la grippe,
palpitation of the heart, pale and sallow
complexions, all forms of weakness either in
male or female, and all diseases /resulting
from vitiated humors in the blood. Dr.
Williams’ Pink Pills are sold by all dealers,
or will be sent post paid on receipt of price,
(50 cents a box, or 6 boxes for s2.so—they

We visited our friend, Lawrence Bird,
last Sabbath, who lias been an invalid
for fifteen years, being confined to his
bed most of the time with spinal affec

and been confined so long, he always
seems cheerful. Could not us voting
people make his life more cheerful by
visiting him oftener, and singing for him
and carrying him good books and papers
to read? Our Saviour said: •‘lnasmuch
as ye have done it unto one of the least
of these my brethren, ye have done it
unto me.” It is not the wealthy and
learned of this world who will have the
brightest crowns in the next world ; but

our Jesse Varnell, who have not known
nothing worldly but to suffer, and have
borne it so patiently, will have the bright

K 4 OTHERS, Do You Know that Paregoric,
■v I Bateman’s Drops, Godfrey's Cordial, many so-called Soothing Syrups, and
most remedies for children are composed of opium or morphine?
Po Von Know that opium and morphine are .stupefying narcotic poisons?
Do You Know that in most countries druggists are not permitted to sell narcotics
without labeling them poisons ?
Do Von Know that you should not permit any medicine to be given your child
unless you or your physician know of what it is composed ?
Do You Know that Castoria is a purely vegetable preparation, and that a list of
its ingredients is published with every bottle ?
Do Von Know that Castoria is the prescription of the famous Dr. Samuel Pitcher.
That it has been in use for nearly thirty years, and that more Castoria is now sold than
of all other remedies for children combined ?
Do You Know that the Patent Office Department of the United States, and of
other countries, have issued exclusive eight to Dr. Pitcher and his assigns to use the word
“ Castoria ’* and its formula, and that to imitate them is a state prison offense ?
Do Von Know that one of the reasons for granting this government protection
was because Castoria had been proven to be absolutely harmless?
Do You Know that 35 average doses of Castoria are furnished for 35
cents, or one cent a dose?
Do Von Know that when possessed of this perfect preparation, your children may
be kept well, and that you may have unbroken rest ?
Well, these things are worth knowing. They are facts.
