LOUISVILLE, TUESDAY, Ffbru-iry 26, 1799- From Ireland we learn, that the United Irilh, under the command of Gen. Holt, have had three engagements, with the king's troops, in all of which Holt hath been vittorioas— that the only place now in pof feflioa of the royal' party, is Dublin and its environs; and that liberty, equality and the rights of man, once more begins to rear their drooping heads, and bids defiance to feeptered tyranny. Be it therefore ena£led, that ad and every officer , civil and mili tary, holding any office under the authority of this State, by commif fan or other wife, fhall take and Jahfcrihe the following oath , before . the clerk of the fuperior or inferior cowls, of the county in which he may re fide ; or if a [late officer , before his Excellency the Governor % for the time being , to wit ; “/, A.
