MURRELL* The fries da of this gentleman are urging him to nuke the race for Commissioner of Agriculture, and we learn that he is now considering the matter. We hope Mr. Morrell will decide to permit the use of bin name, and feel no doubt of bis election. He is one of the most intelligent and suc cessful planters of Clarke county, and occuples a prominent position in the Farmers’ Alliance, and baa been from its suit one of the warmest and strongest champions of that organi sation. Bat aside from these claims, Mr. Murrell is peculiarly fitted this place, for there is not a clearer beaded farmer in Georgia, or a man who belter understand* the interests and needs of our agricultural ele ment. With Geo. T. Nepotism has played a high hand, and entire families fed and fattened at the public crib. Men straggled and grasped for office, and their first act was to lay their wires for an increase in salary. Every oflU cer was surrounded by high-priced assistants, generally selected from his own family. The patient and long-suffering people have bcroe this burthen only too long, and are now in open rebellion. The Alliance will lead the charge oa this hoary band of pap-snckers, and they will be rooted, too, horse, foot and dragoon. The farmers are having made a new broom of retrenchment, and it will sweep things clean, Urn. They will make no fight on faith fal offi cials, but those who have heretofore relied on the influence of professional politicians to keep them in office, and have used their positions to far ther their own selfish ends, and ens rich their kindred and supporters at the expense of the toiling masses, will find, like Othello, their occnpa- MB MW!
