it on the bloody Held of battle.
Away with each slanderous charges!
The Afflanoe and the democracy are
the same. Hand in hand they have
fought oppressors this long beneath
the smile of an approving God, and
side by side and heart to heart they
will march on to work oat the salva-

GEORGIA AT CH1CACO.
Mow since the way has been made (
dear that Georgia can appropriate (
money for an exhibit at the World’s ]
Fair, the State ought to look to it {
that this privilege shall not go nn- |
observed. It ie very necessary that (
Georgia abould have a splendid ex- (
hibit at the World’s Fair, and there
is not a loyal citizen bat who would {
when called upon lend his best ef
forts towards securing the exhibi
for the State, even if the State did
not appropriate any money oat of
the treasury.
Bat the convention held in At
lanta has shown that the State has a
perfect right to appropriate part of
the Western & Atlantic railroad
rental, shd it was the sense of that
convention that this is the thing to
do. The convention msy be taken
as a representative one,for all classes
and professions bad delegates there.
It is thus seen that the people of
Georgia want the appropriation Of
$100,000, recommended by the con
vention to be made by the legisla
ture..
The General Assembly has been
left to do tho work, and to this body
must the people now look. It is the
duty of every legislator to vote for
this appropriation which has been
asked for by the people of the State.

The report now comes that the
gambling debts of the Prince amoun
ting to the enormous sum of one
million and a half of dollars have
been paid by his mother. It is a fa
vorite play of the Prince to draw on
the Queen in this fashion.
As a lord in the social world the
Prince appears to be a blooming, a
howling success. As a clever, good
fellow who loves convivial friends he
appears to be indeed a prince among
good fellows. But the boys do him
up badly whenever be takes a hand
in a quiet little game.
Now if the Prfhce most play poker,
we endorse the advice that an ex

Washington for a season, picking up
points. On his return to England

THE DEMOCRACY IS SAFE.
The row that many newspapers
have been raising about a third par
ty ia unprovoked. Those papers are
too quick to charge alliancemen with
leaning towards republicanism, just
as they have been ail along too quick
to oharge much to the Alliance of
whioh the Alliance was not guilty.
There is no tendency on the part
of the Alliance to break np the dem

cannot agree with Mr. Dana, of the
New York Snn, that the Alliance is
as apt in the next National cam

ranch harm as it is apt to do the re
