ment on the old Schedule. 3
Two of those sweet smellirg beast-
railed pole-cats have been killed in
tthens in tbe last week.
Some remarks have been made in and
about Athens concerning discrimina
tions in freight rates against the city by
the R & DC ‘ ’
Whether or not the freight .depart
ment has been inimical to Athens the
passenger department has made a sched
ule in effect tomorrow that lb ingeni
ously arranged to give to both Athens
and Macon fine local trains, the advan
tage being in favor bf Athena.
A Per v today, using city
time as the standard, tbe
morning train leaves- Lula at 2:20,
arriving in Athena at2p. m., and con
tinuing on to Madison, reaching that
city at 3:30 p. ja. This train rum
daily. . • ;
The evening train leaves Lula daily
except Sunday at 9p. m., arriving in
Athens at 10:45 p. m. On the southern
end the train for Macon leaves at 6:20

Leaving Madison at 5vl0 a. m.- daily

Train from Macon daily leaves that
c ty at 2 p. ■ m. and continuing . on to
Lula, daily except Sunday.
Passengers from up the Northeastern

This schedule comes from tbe office
Mr. S H Hardwick, the assistant
general passenger agent, and seems to
have been arranged by him and Col
Hammond to fit the local requirements
exactly.
The early hours are perhaps a little
incoi.venient and the connection at
Lula on the present Air Line schedule
some what, tiresome hut the local traffic
is perfetly cared for and- for the city’s
trade this is all important?.
