It is evident, however, that the mur

to cover np a crime much more terrible
in its real import. FI... ,v™
_ Physicians who,
have examined the remains of the little
girl declare there is unquestionable evi
dence that the little girl was brutally,
treated before being murdered. The
parents of the little children, Samnel
Good and wife, reside about two miles
north of the town, Mr. Good being a
Well-to-do farmer. The children left
visit a neighbor. They remained away
all day ami when darkness came they
hud not returned.
Search was instituted, and their
bodies were found under a brush pile
which their murderers had attempted
to fire, but which was extinguished by
tbe rain.
The little bov’s throat was cut from
ear to ear and his clothes and body were
literally steeped in his own blood. The
little girl’s head was cut off and she
was disemboweled. There were two
deep, ugly gashes from the ribs to the
grout. From all appearances the dread
ful crime had been committed with an
aye or some other equally unwieldly
and blunt iustrumeut.
Many think the girl was first waylaid
end the boy possibly ccming along dis
covered the crime, when it was resolved
to murder him also, to destroy all evi-
denoe or chance of detection.
A young man named Hart has been
arrested, supposed to be in some way
connecttod~with the murder of the Good
children, though search of hia olothing
reveals nothing.
