IN THE LECTURES,
Mr. J. M. Dick Continues
to Impress his Hearers.
The interest in tho lectures by Mr
John M Dick continues to increase and
at each lecture he is greeted by a large
and enthusiastic audience.
Yesterday afternoon he spoke to the
boys’ meeting on the subject, “The Ship
Wreck,” and last night to the men’s
meeting on the anbj-ct, ”A Notorious
Robber. ”
The pictures used in the illustration
of these lectures art: the finest ever seen
in Athens, particularly those used at
the beginning of the lectures to men at
night, pictures from the life of Christ.
This afternoon Mr. Dick will lecture
to the boys on “The heap for Life” and
tonight will talk to men on “The Triple
Appeal.”
Woman’s Club fleets.
The Athens Woman’s Olnb held an
enthusiastic meeting yesterday after
noon, presided over by Mrs M. A.
Lipscomb. About seventy delegates
have already been reported and several
clnbs have not as yet sent in the names
of their delegates. Atlanta will send a
very large delegation to this session of
the Georgia Federation. There will be
many of the most prominent women in
the state in attendance upon this meet
ing. Homes for at least fifty delegates
have already been provided and homes
for all who come will be secured. The
Athens clnb expects to entertain the
visitors in royal style.
Boley-Funkenstein
This afternoon at three o'clock at the
residence of Mr. and Mrs. P. Funken-
stein, of.this city, will occnr the mar
riage of their charming yonng daughter.
Miss Minnie Fnnkenstein. to Mr Sidney
Boley. Habbi Kabenstein will officiate.
After the wedding an elegant reception
will be held at the home of the bride’s
parents until half-past six o’clock and
will be resnmed from 8 to 11 o’clock
this evening, ignite a number of friends
have been invited and the wedding will
be a brilliant affair.
Mrs. W. E. Love and her little son,
Edwin, have returned to New York
after a visit to Mrs. A. S. Mandeville.
Hon. James B. Park, of Greensboro,
is in the city on a visit to his soil and
daughter at the University of Georgia
and Lucy Cobb Institute.
