Athens would (lo well to follow the
example set by the city of Macon, iu
allowing tho employes of the city a half
haliday on each Saturday. This plau
only holds good during the dull summer
months, and the city no doubt could
well afford to grant this additional rest
to the employes who labor faithfully
for the city day in and day out, and
such action would he thoroughly ap
preciated by the employes.
In Macon, in making a suggestion of
this kind to the city council, Mayor
Bridges Smith also recommended that
the factories and large wholesale houses
and other business concerns, where it
was practicable, should also give their
employes a half holiday on Saturdays,
it is understood that tho suggestion,
which was adopted by the city council,
was also adopted by a number of busi
ness concerns iu that city.
Wherever it can be done, iu Athens,
without detriment to business, half holi
days should be allowed the employes on
Saturdays.

ing and burning, is cured by Hood’s
Sarsaparilla. So are all other blood
diseases.

any dangerous consequences from it.
She says: Our three children took
whooping cough last summer, our baby
boy being ouly tbreo months old,
and owing to onr giving them
Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy, they
lost none of their plvmpuess and came
out in much better health than other
