Valuable time is lost in fruitless efforts to heal

announce the approach of the eating mid sloughing stage, and a hideous,

Proposal for Better Equip
ment at Waterworks,
A proposition will b« submitted to the
council this afternoon to pnt in another
pnmp at the waterworks station to be
ran by electricity from the ne w power
to be developed at Tallassee.
The pnmp is to be the size and
pacity of the present ones bnt will be
ran by a motor instead of by steam
power as at present.
This new pnmp will greatly Improve
the equipment of the pnmping elation,
and at the same time redaoe the cost of
pnmping the water nearly one half, as
the eleotrioal power will be very muoh
cheaper than the steam power.
If the proposals of the engineers are
accepted, thepreeent pnmps and engines
will be kept intact and always in readi

should happen to the others.
