Tallyho Party.
Wednesday evening Miss Agnes Goss
gave a delightful tallyho party in honor
of her gnest Miss Sugette Lanier, of
West Point. The party rode to Mitoh-
ells Bridge where luncheon was served
and drove back to the city later in the
evening. Those who went in the party
were Misses Lanier, Vickers, Strickland,
Ellie Williams, Sarah Yancey, Julie
Hodgson, Armstrong, Goss, and Miss
Fannie Lucas, chaperone. Messrs. Har
dy, Dallas, F. Lipscomb, Ed Wyatt,
M. King, Joe Hodgson, Krenson and
Turner.
Messrs. John W. Weloh and Ed W
Wyatt entertained a number of friends
at the Glovorhurst Country club last
evening. An enjoyable tallyho ride
carried the party to the club house
whete tea was served, after which the
guests endulged in ping pong, billiards,
cards and a dance.
Miss Pearl Eberhart left yesterday for
Savannah.
Mr. Hugh Sohouse, of Macon, an old
Athens boy, is visiting relatives in the
city.

The many friends of Mrs. S C Reese

Charter Filed for New Road.

San Antonio and Crowthcr Rail
road company has hen filed. Head
quarters will In In Sail Antonio, and
the road will lie fin miles In length,
running from San Antonio to the town
of Crowther. The object of the pro
moters is to get an outlet to the newly
developed oil fields In the locality sur
rounding the terminus of the road.

Death of Engineer.
The remains of Mr. J. L. ureer, an
engineer employed by the Seaboard at
Abbeville, S. O , were brought to Ath
ens yesterday at noon, and taken over
the Georgia railroad to Woodville, Ga
for interment.

morning in Atlanta was brought here
yesterday for interment. The corpse
was met at the Seaboard depot aud the
interment took place in Oconoe Ceme
