Dunwoily & Co., lumber Importers,
have made an assignment to Alex Me-
Gowin, Jr., of Drewton. Ala., for the
benefit of their creditors. No state
ment of assets and liahilith s has yet
been made. This firm did three-fifths
of the timber exporting from this port.

German Steamer Is Lost.
Valparaiso, Chili, May 14.—The Ger
man steamer Sakkarah. Captain I*ie
nig, has become a total loss at Ilnam-
blin Island, off the coast of Chill. The
fate of the Sakkarah’s ergw and pas
sengers is not known. The cargo of
-'the Sakkarah Included $l,5»»o,ooo in
gold specie, which was being remitted
by the Chilian government.

many parts of the country were pres
ent at the annual meeting of the Wom
an's Board of Foreign Missions of tho
Reformed church in America, which
has just been held in this city. The
following officers were re-elected: Mrs.
Burrell, president; Mrs. H. N. Cobh,
vice president; Mrs. A. L. Cushings,
home secretary; Miss M. V. Bushing,
secretary for Japan; Mrs. E. E. Oli-
cett, secretary for Arabia; Mrs. J. G.
Fagg. secretary for China, and Miss
O. H. Lawrence, secretary for India.

filed by W. M. Wilson ngalnst the
Central of Georgia Railway company
for $7,500 damages for personal Inju
ries received on Jan. 2 of this year
by tho explosion of an engine In the
yard of the Central railroad. Wilson
was at work on tho roof of a shed and
was blown off high In the air, and in
falling several of his ribs wore broken
and he sustained other Injuries, which
have prevented hint working since tho
accident.
