The entertainment of Miss Mary Hill
Friday evening in honor of Miss With-
am, of Atlanta and Rath Hill of Monti-
cello, was one of the most enjoyable so-
oial events of the week. The lovely
young hostess, by her grecefnl manner
and affable disposition made the occasion
one of happiness and pleasure to all
present. The novel game of “Railroad”
was participated in till n late honr, when
delicious refreshments were served.
There wore about twenty-live conples
in attendance.
Miss Bertie Meadows has returned
from Bowie, Texas.
Mrs. E. It. Ohnrly of Bairdstown,
who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. E.
R. Oheney returned home today.

The Cavalry are Coming.
“Under the Southern Gross,” which
is the presentation of a Cavalry esropade
true to the stirring times of the sixties,
will be repeated at the Opera House on;
next Tuesday night, the 20th inst.
Phi Kappa Speakers.
The two literary societies in the Uni
versity are hard at work preparing for
the annual champion debate which oc
curs on Saturday evening of Commence
ment. The preliminary contest in the
debate was held in the Flu Kappa so-
oiety yesterday, and Messrs. A. G, Gol-
ncke, of Crawfordville, Ga.. and C. W.
Bond, of Canon, Ga., were eleoted as
ohampion debaters.
