Good Health
Is doubtless the highest human good.
It is especially so to women, to whom it
means the preservation of beauty, hap
piness in the home, and the enjoyment
of social duties. There can be no g-xxl
health for any
woman who suf
fers from woman
ly diseases. Her
complexion fails.
Her flesh loses
its firmness. Her
eyes are dull. She
has no home hap
piness, no social
enjoyment.
Doctor Pierce’s
Favorite Prescrip
tion cures the dis
uses which de
stroy the health.
It establishes reg
ularity, dries dis
agreeable drains,
heals inflamma
tion and ulceration, and cures female
weakness. It gives good health to
women, which means tranquil nerves, a
good apjictite and sound sleep.
" I was a great sufferer two years ago with
female trouble and 1 wrote to you for advice.”
says Mr*. Mattie Hays, of Tribulation. McDonald
Co.. Missouri. "You outlined n course of treat
ment for me. I followed your directions, and
now feel like a different person. I rever
expected to hear from you when I wrote to you
In three days after I commenced taking your
medicines I began to feel better. 1 took twenty
dollars’ worth of the Favorite Prescription *
and * Golden Medical Discovery.’ I Wmght it
five dollars’ worth at a time, and also four vials
of Dr. Fierce’s Pellets. I would not take one
thousand dollars for the good the medicine has
done me. 1 -in t praise it enough 1 wish all
who suffer with such troubles would give Dr
Pierce’s medicines a fair trial. I can work all
day—doing anything, walk where I please, and
feel good. Many thanks to you for your kind
advice."
Dr. Pierce’s Medical Adviser, in paper
covers, is sent free on receipt of 21 one-

One of the pleasant happenings of the
week was the reproduction of the war
drama, ‘ Under the Southern Croa«.”
Under the able management of Mrs |
E A Crawford quite a sum was added
to the Winnie Davis memorial fund
The play was well rendered in the
presence of a large audienco. The actors
are to be congratulated upon the able
presentation of this beautiful drama.
Miss Rutherford gracefully interpreted
the ante-bellum lady of Warrington
Court, the true Southern type o!f wo
manhood that is the beast of Southern
history.
Major C.irltou was the ideal genial
general of the Confederacy, the very
per?ouiflchtio.. of chivalry.
The parts of the y< w g r officer* were
truly presented by Mr. C. B. Griffith as
Col. Beverely, Mr Andley Morton as

The skin is provided with millions of little pores
and glands invisible to the natural eye, yet through
theSe tiny outlets the larger part of the deadly matter
that daily collects in the body is carried off. But nature
never intended that poisons of an irritating or acid
character should be eliminated through the skin, the Liver and Kidneys being their natural
outlets, and it is when these important organs fail to perform their functions that these acid
poisons are absorbed into the blood and find their way to the surface of the body through the
pores and glands of the skin, producing intense itching and burning, inflammation and
swelling, and eruptions of every conceivable size, shape and character.
Skin Diseases differ greatly in their general characteristics and degrees of intensity.
Strayed or Stolon, Red and angry looking spots break out upon some part of the body with a mass of small
One bay horso with white spot in face p us t u les or blisters, from which is discharged a clear or straw colored fluid, which dries and
Any one returning to J. R Cam will fl g y PQ G ff j n bran-like particles and scales, or forms into hard and painful sores and scabs.
The skin often hardens and dries, cracks and bleeds from the effects of the fiery acids,
which the blood is continually
throwing off. Pimples, black
heads and blotches are evidences
of a too acid blood, which has
inflamed and clogged the pores.
Skin Diseases being depend
ent upon the same causes require
the same treatment, which must
be constitutional and not external.
Nothing applied locally to the
inflamed surface can bring much
relief. The disfiguring eruptions
will continue to annoy and pain
you in spite of soaps, washes or powders. There is no hope of getting rid of a d u
except through the purification of the depreciated blood and neutralizing and ill. .n
the circulation all poise nous substances and acids.
The purifying andi tonic properties of S. S. S. soon manifest their influence in shin
affections; the debilitated system is invigorated and toned up, and the gradual disappearance
of the eruptions show that the polluted blood is being brought back to its natural purity and
01 strength. Old chronic skin disorders, which have resisted all the ordinary methods of
treatment, readily yield to the curative
powers of S. S. S., and there is no reason
why the long time sufferer should feel
resigned to his fate under the mistaken
idea that some skin diseases are incura
ble, for S. S. S. has cured and is still
curing cases perhaps far more desperate
than yours. S. S. S. is a purely vegetable
remedy, containing no Potash, Arsenic
or any of the poisonous drugs which constitute the basis of so many so-called skin cures.
Our Medical Department has been of the greatest assistance to thousands seeking relief
from blood and skin troubles. Write us fully about your case, and our physicians will help
you, for which no charge whatever is made. Our illustrated Book on Skin Diseases will be
sent free to all who write for it. THE SWIFT SPECIFIC COMPANY, ATLANTA, GA.
Ottumwa, Iowa, April 10, 1901.
In 1883 I broke out with Eczema on my beau, logs and arms. The
Doctors treated me for about two years without giving relief. I next
tried varioue ointmonta, soaps and washes, but these did me r.o pood.
I finally quit taking medicine, as the physician said the disease had
become chronic and Inourable. Having endured this fermenting malady
for about 16 years, I determined to make another effort to get rid ci it
and began S. S. S. in July, 1900, and continued it until November, when
I discovered, to my surprise and |oy, that not a spot could he ;ound on
my body, which before had been almost covered with the eruption.
It has now been nearly a year since the disease disappeared, but not
a sign of it has ever returned, and I am satisfied the cure is permanent.
