For Whooping Cough use Cheney’s Expectorant It is understood that the sting of the University Bumble-bee, issued on June 16th., containing would-be humorous tliugB at a number of the members of the faculty of the University of Geor gia, Ungers with three members of the faculty, while as a matter ol fact the in cident has been almost completely ob literated from the minds of everybody else. A rumor has been current on the streets of Athens for several days to the effect that three members of the faculty had instituted a vigorous search for the the publisher of the nniqne paper, and had finally satisfied thcmselres that the pnblisher had been located within short distance of Athens, it has also been rnmored that salt woul d be insti tuted against this pnblisher, as well as the authors of some of the articles, In the event the identity of Buoh authors conld be brought ont. The Banner has been cognizant of these rumors for several clays bnt has preferred not to say anything about them until today, for the reason that it was learned only yesterday that counsel had been actually conferred with, and probab.y retained by members of the faculty, While there is evidently some thing back of the rumors, the matter may be settled ontside of the oourts, as it is said there it considerable opposition to making a court affair of it, on the part of influential members of the fac ulty, and probably some of the trustees of the University. As was stated in the outset, the Bnm- ble-Bee had been forgotten by most of those who saw it at the time it appeared, bnt the notion of the few members of the faculty in stirring the nest at this time may result in a revival of the buzz ing of the undesirable insect Mr. E. H. Dorsey, the up-to date Clothier, returned today from New York. Mr. Dorsey is now prepared to say to his many customers that 25 years experience has taught him what the peo pie want and having snrpassed every previous effort the selection of his fall stock, will be able to pleaBe the mo,t fastidious as well as the masses. It will be to the interests of buyers ofi clothing and gents f rrnishings to watch Mr. Dorsey's advertisement in the Banner from day to day. THE SUMMER SCHOOL IS Prof. F. M. Harper Writes Interestingly of the Enterprise. Editor Banner.—In making the'ean- vass for tha proposed summer school, the committee has been impressed with the favorable attitude of the people to ward this movement. Over half the amount has already been raised. One of onr bankers aotnally invited me intu his office in order that he might make a contribution. Never have I experienced an incident of this kind before. Anoth er good citizen aeked me how muoh I though he ought to give, 1 suggested. ten dollars. He said that he had in tended giving ODe hundred, I note with interest the loyalty and good will of the citizens toward the University in contrast to the sullen in difference of some years ego. Every one eulogizes Mr. Brauson and the State Normal, and there seems to be no limit to the expectations of the citizens with regard to that institution. Having been in close touch with Geor gia teachers for several ytars, I feel that I can speak with truthfulness as to their desires and needs. I believe that we can have one thousand teachers here next summer if we can provide for them. These teachers will come pre pared to do earnest work. Amusement features will not be objectionable at all, bnt what the teaohers of Georgia need and desire is genuine classroom work, suoh as the faculties of the State Nor mal and U Diversity are prepared to give. Tnese teachers realize better than any one else their past limited opportunities, aud their one overwhelming deairo is to do solid and substantial work, obtain ing University credit if possible. Doubt less Chancellor Hill and President Bran son will arrange the details In a way thrt will make the Snmmer School a permanent feature in Athens, resulting in lasting good to Georgia.
