feature of (he proceedings to the fullest
extent. Arlington and Leary those
openhearted towns, were well represen¬
ted. Ic is useless to try to mention in
detail the different douatious of tin
which I he occasion collected together.
It ap) eared like one end of the veranda
was full of tin ware. Tho important
feature of the occasion io many was the
supper. The arrangements were so
unique and pleasantly arranged that it
reflected much credit upon the arrangers.
Tho table could sent 35 and enough
guests were there to till it three times.
I will not undertake to mention what
was on the table, but will only say the
contents were sufficiently enticing to
cause a large amount of them to disap¬
pear. \V, H. 0. Cunninghau who has a
weakness for turkey and good things,
with Tom Plow-den for his aid and the
Tax collector as las support, led the way
and made the attack on the first tabic.
It is needless to say that under the
leadership of such a disciplined trio
every one performed his duty. The
host and hostess were considerably ex¬
orcised because they did not have any
rice for Tom Plowden, but they soon
became calm and serene when they saw
how he could surround things w ithout
lice. It was a subject of some comment
as to who would be sufficiently cool and
calm to lead the second attack. Just iu
(he nick of time however two men of
steady nerves and pluck to the care
(Dave Carter and George Kiley) drove
up. All felt satisfied that under their
leadership duty would be performed.
Lath Wiggins sr.id “uickruteks” put his
teeth on edge, and it took eollards and
hog head to get the edge off. Capt.
Webb says “ah; yer right. After supper
the crowd was entertained with good
by Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Davis, Mr.
could have done better if he
have had a Bob-tail Bow, for the
end struck the vines on the wall
the lower end would katch in the
of a young ladys hair. May the
who gave so many of us such
pleasant entertainment live long and
prosper.
