Nothing succeeds likes success; end
hastUt- Butler tO Gee's business dem
oustrated this fact. A few years ago
John Butler came to Arlington, from
a medical college with nothing but his
diploma. He opened an office and
commenced the practice of medicine,
At flr*t his prospects were gloomy, but
j soon h.s first c«ii came, and .hat call
brought another—success began to
succeed, until he soon acquired n fair
i practice, a pretty little home and a
! snug drug business with his partner,
! Mr. Gee. Mr. G. commenced
ness in Arlington with a very small
! stock of goods, but soon afterward
the business of J. A. Butler and J. H.
Gee were consolidated, and through
continued additions they now have
one of the neatest and tidiest little
drug stores in this section. True they
haven’t the money of an Astor nor the
establishment of a Stewart.nor have we
said so* but who knows but that they
may yet have all this, if they stand by
their present plan of business and con
tinue to advertise as they do in this
week‘s Advance. Read what they
siy and go see if they tell the truth,

Last Monday morning Mr. George
Wiggins met Mr. W. P. Perry’s two
little boys on their way to school, be
took them up in his buggy. They bad
not gone far before Mr. Wiggins had
to g> j t out to adjust some pait of
the harness, and before he could get
back in the buggy the horse dashed off
Mr. W. Held on to the lines as long as
could, but the hor-e soon outdone lym.
One of the little boys jumped out of the
buggy and escaped injury, but the
sir, ullest, one was thrown out and bis
collar bone broken . Drs. Butler and
McClain went out and set the bone,
and the little fellow is now doing well.
The horse is the same that ran away
with Messrs. Wiggins and Palmer
last week. This time, as before, the
buggy was but slightly damaged.

Mr. Sim Maury, who lives iu the

misfortune to louse his dwelling and

on last Sunday. Mr. M. '.and family
were at church at the time the fire
broke out, and did not know of it un¬

been the work’of an incendiary. The
blow is indeed severe on Mr.

Its no uncommon sight, as we have
once before stated, to see men on our
streets and in the stores discussing re¬

are very careful about the food for

the bread of eternal life. Few towns
have enjoyed a richer religious feast
than Arlington has during the last few
weeks, and the good that has been
