DAVIS ACADEMY
The death angel visited the home
of Mrs. Annie Bettis Wednesday
morning, March 11th, and took from
them their loving husband and father.
He had an attack of grippe and
pneumonia fever. He leaves his wife,‘
three sons, Felton, Levi and Robert;
four daughters, Ozelle, Irene, Lucillle
and Catharine, a mother, two sisters,
and two brothers, Mr. John Bettis
and Mr. Robert Bettis, and a host of
other relatives and friends to mourn
his loss. He was laid to rest in
Kemp’s graveyard on Saturday. We
deeply sympathize with the bereaved
family.

_Shé was laid to rest at Sandy Plains
March 10th. We sympathize with the
sorrowing relatives.
- Mrs. Sallie Sullivan, of near this
place, died on March 9th. She leaves
several children to mourn her loss.
The remains were laid to rest at
Mount. Carmel on March 10th. We
sympathize with the family.
Mr. and Mrs. Olan Hembree are
all smiles over the arrival of a fine
boy one day last week. -
Mr. Jack Carlisle’s family, who
have the flu and pneumonia are no
better at this writing. We are sorry
to note.
~ Mr. Turner Barron happened to a
painful accident one day last week
by his mule kicking him in the barn.
Mrs. Noah Davis, who has the flu,
is some better, we are glad to say.
We are requested to announce that
there will be a meeting at the school
house Sunday afternocon at 2:30 for
the purpose of organizing a Sunday
iSchool. Everybody please come out,
especially those who are interested in
Sunday School work.
-Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wilkie visited
‘home folks Sunday. .
Mr. C. T. Bannister and family
were called to the bedside of their
sick niece, Miss Ruby Carilsle, of
Sandy Plains,” who is real sick of
pneumonia at this writing.
Mrs. Jewel Chance, of Piedmont,
spent the week-end with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Wilkie.
Mr. A. B. Cunningham was the
guest of relatives here Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Wallace visit
ed in Marietta Sunday.
We had no school the first of the
week on account of sickness in the
teachers family. His mother Mrs.
