Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Richardson
have returned from Mississippi,
where they werg called by the death
of Mr. Richardson’s father, Dr. Rich
ardson, a very prominent physician.
Mr. Johny Christian came oves
from the Naval Training Station at
Charleston to spend the week-end
with his mother.
Mrs. Beshers has gone to Atlanta
to spend the winter with her daugh
ter, Mrs. Tinsley, while Mr. Tinsley
is in France. Mr. Beshers will con
tinue with his studio here. -
Mr. Virgil McCles’cey is at the
Sanitorium, where he underwent a
serious operation on Tuesday. His
friends will be glad to know that he
is getting on nicely.
Mr. Mills MeNeel, Jr., has come
up from Camp Gordon to spend two
weeks at home.
Lieutenant Garrett, whe was sta
tioned here with the 320th Regiment
last winter, was recently killed in
action over there. This is sad news
to many in Marietta.
Mrs. V. E. Wofford, of Jasper, is
the guest of her sister, Mrs. J. W.
Lewis, Jr.
Mrs. B. T. Frey celebrated the
fifth birthday of her small daughter,
Evelyn, with a very happy spend-the
day party. Those present were Mrs.
Rembert Smith with her two little
daughters, Emily and Caroline, Miss
Allene Field, and Frances Ware.
Mr. W. S.-N. Neal is on the sick
list this week.
Friends of Mr. H. Grady Conway
will be interested to know that he
has gone to Fort Screven, having
entered the Coast Artillers.
