Eastman, Feb. 16.—St. Valentine's Day was celebrated in Eastman last night by a grand drcBS ball at tho Uplands Hotel. The Brunswick Ital ian Band furnished the music. There were delegations of ladies and gen tlemen from Chauncey and elsewhere and tho spacious dining hall of this famous hotel was the scene of much beauty and animation. Only One More Week. Washington, Feb. 15.—Represen tative Norwood called on the Presi dent to-day to learn whether the lat ter would stop in Savannah on his way to Florida. The President said he would. Ho will leave here at noon next Tuesday with Mrs. Cleveland, Secretary and Mrs. Whitney and Col. and Mrs. Lamont. He will stop in Savannah an hour on Wednesday, driving about town. Ho will then go to Jacksonville, returning Thurs day, and stopping nowhere else going [or returning.
