The store of Messrs. Moody and Lang on Bay street was robbed two nights ago. These gfehtlcmen were ’absent, and Mr. DffflP^jTOvls was tending the store for them. By an oversight, a man was . looked up in the store who took what he wanted and then left. A piece of money ta ken from the store has been found in the possession .of a certain colored man in town, and unless he can give an account of how he got it will have to answer for Same. China and Africa had a misunder-i standing last evening*-or rather two subjects of these dominions, it seems the negro went to the store of Leon, the Chinaman, and Leon met him at the door, pistol in hand. The negro knocked him down with a stick and robbed him of his pistol and $20 in gold. Leon is around to-day trying to get the chaps name so as to take out a warrant for him. An 'attempt was also made last night to ellter the office of Messrs. Torras <fc-Co, by breaking the sash. The clerk was'foi tuuatejy inside, and. upon discovering him the would-be thief ran away. To-day Is good Friday, and is du ly observed by Episcopalians and Catholics.. Sunday will be Easter, aud as such will receive proper re cognition at the hands of. the mem bers of these churches.
