COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS. . REGULAR MKET1NU. Brunswick, April 5tb, 1888. Council met. Present, Hu Honor, D. T. Dunn, Mayor, and members of Council Atkinson, Crevatt, Host- wick, Madden, Berrio and Cook;’ab- . sent, Penniman and Fulton. • The minutes of tho last regular, •' adjourned and called meetings wero send, and after striking out that part of the minute!of April 4th, granting Burrell Atkinson permission to add to building on Old Town lot No. 100 so as to make it suitable for a store, were confirmed. Appeal case of Phillis BuigesB charged with disorderly conduct and fined 915 in Police Court, was heard, and the decission of the Mayor sus tained. An Invitation from tho Defiance Hose Reel Company, to the Mayor and Council and Police force, to at tend a Basket Pio-Nio on April 24th, was read and accepted. An invitation from tho ladles of tho Memorial Association to be pres ent at an Address to’be delivered at tho Cemetery, April 20th, was read and accepted. > A resolution, adopted by the Board of Hoalth, recommending that a San etary Inspector bo appointed, wai read and received. On motion, Mr. John €. Green was appointed Sanitery Inspector from May 1st to November .1st, 1888, in connection with tho position he now bolds, and his salary increased $20 per month. A committee, consisting of Mossrs. J. M. Madden, John R. Bostwick, VV. , II. Berrie. T. G. Stacy, Edwin Brob ston and E.W. Bingham, was appoint ed to make arrangements for enter taining tho Stato Press Association in May. By Alderman Madden— fiend ved by the Mayor and Council, that the Medical Association of Geor gia, now in session at Rome, Ga., be invited to hold their next meeting in this city, and tho Mayor bo author ized to telegraph tho same to that body. Tho resolution was adopted. The City Surveyor was instructed to ascertain tho number of Stoue ■Cornea- Posts he could find—he to be paid a sum not exceeding $10 for #amc. On, motion, it was decided that the city would have nothiug to do with watering tho streets. The Marshal was instructed to .-summon Messrs. Hnzelhurst & Ma son to appear before Council to-mor row mornitig at 11 o’clock, to discuss the contract for furnishing Shells, made with the city. By Alderman Madden— ficnulved, That tho City Time be changed on tho 1st day of May, 1888, so as to conform to tho Standard of time now used by the Rail lloads ter minating in this city, and that the city otlicers do conform to the change 1 hereby ordered. Bostwick: • Whereas, Tho present City Ilall or the city of Brunswick is inade quate and wholly unsuited to the wants and purposes of said city, and n uew building is needed nud desir ed, and Whereas, The money required to erect a suitable and creditable build ing can bo now procured pat tho legal rato of intorest and upon most ac commodating terms. Therefore be it fiesoloed, That the committee on public buildings aun grounds be, and they are instructed to inquire into and ascertain the cost, of erecting a new and suitable CU\ Hall to obtuiu plans and speci flea turns thereof, and from whom tho mo.ivy necessary to build the same can be obtained, 'nud upon what time and rate of interest . tlie same can be bad, and to report fully the result of their investigations to ti is body at a meeting to be held tlie first Wednesday in May.
