We missed the Brst part of the entertainment, being •called elsewhere, muoh to our regret, Sot we undertand from those pres ent that the dramatic part which came off first was well executed. We will hob at this writing, •disousBtho propriety of this move whioli has some serious objections on the face of them. - 1st They ran a long ways off from the business part of tho city, which is unlike the policy pursued by most SdL Oneofthem—the George street line—touches but two important lots in its whole cohreo—contrary to plan usually carried out—sidewalks being built mainly for the benefit of those people immediately interested. 3d. Sidewalks should be petitioned for by people who, themselves, ex pectto aid In the payment of tho ex pense. But, as wo stated above, wo have not brought} up tho subject to dis cuss these features, but to suggest that if such a measure is carried out, wo can see no reason why the full width should be put down—a three or four foot walk is all that would bo needed on a great portion of either of these routes. A wider walk than this on the Dixvillo lino especially would soon bo grown over on the out cr edges with grass as is some other unnecessary walks now down.
