On motion they seleoted the names from New and Old Town, receiving the highest vote. Here are the four: J. M. Madden, M. Ullman, James Mine han, John P. Harvey. We hinted sometime since that the Firemen would have a tourna ment about the 28th, and invite other companies. The Methodists of St. Louis are organizing a society of deaconesses in pursuance of the action of the last general conference authorizing such societies. The order will be devoted to works of charity but its members will take no vows.
