The majority of tho 'possums sold in Atlanta come front , tho country mer chants, and a largo percentage of this number come from up on the Marietta and North Georgia railroad, a section of tho country which is regarded os the finest in tho world for grapes, ryo, 'possums and com liquor. A number of countrymen living tn Fulton county catch many’possums during the sea son, and somotimes thoy brtng them in by the wagon load, os they would bring in a load of chickens. ’Possums are sold at various prices, governed according to tho size of the animal. Tho kittens bring from 20 to 10 cents, while tho full grown range "" sum is from 40 cents to $1. Tho ’possum ripe by tho 1st of September, and ho is pulled until tho 1st of March. Tho average sum paid for 'possums a mouth during tho season will amount to something over $500, making tho ’pos sum crop worth about $4,000 to At lanta.
