how a Home wok Wrecked.
A recent, case in the divorce court in
i'incinnatti presents a sti iking example
of the power lor evil a vicious woman
can exercise over an infatuated man.
Some years ago John]). Huff, a rising
voung man of that city, was the fortu
nate possessor of a happy home, a loving
wife’ and two pretty chifdien. lie stood
high in society’ and all was bright and
prosperous in his future prospects. To
day his home is broken up, and with
character and reputation ruined, lie is a
soeral outcast and. a wanderer. The
woman to whom he owes his ruin is Lou
A\ hitlock the discarded wile of a photo
grapher. She had neither heartv cul

all this, Mr. Huff fell a victim to her
wiles notwitstanding his own wife was a
handsome, relined, amiable lady, and a
good wife-and mother to his children.
Their intrigues, carried on secretly at

and charming children, the infatuated
luan gave up his business, and with his
hiistress visited New York, Boston, Phil

Squandered his wealth in satisfying her
luxurious wants. The injured wife
sought and obtained a divorce on the
ground ot her husband's adultei v. A
few years passed, and the guilt/ husband
seper.ited from his vile companion re
turned to his wife and professing* repen

ness, and tlie parted pair were remarri

in seeming hapiness, when, sad to relate
the husband again fell into the of
his former enslaver. Hemet her at a
place of amusement, and forgetting all
his former protestations, lie again al*an-‘

love. To the pleading and remonstran

replied with oaths and blows, and llviui**

Huff and his mistress fled to (’anad.a, and
for the second time the divorce coin*'
has granted the unfortunate wife a final
separation from her miserable husband.

iFor Diseases of tho
Throat and Lungs,
such as Coughs, Colds,
Whooping Cough,
Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
The reputation it has attained, in consequence of
the marvellous cures it has produced during the
last half century, is a sufficient assurance to the
public that it will continue to realize the happiest
results that can be desired. In almost every
section of country there arc persons, publicly
known, xvho have been restored from alarming and
even desperate diseases of the lungs, by its use.
All who have tried it, acknowledge its superiority;
and where its virtues are known, no otic hesitates
as to what medicine to employ to relieve the dis
tress and suffering peculiar to pulmonary affec
tions. Ciikkuy I’kctokai. always affords bl
atant relief, and performs rapid cures of tho
milder varieties of bronchial disorder, as well as
the more formidable diseases of the lungs.
Asa safeguard to children, amid the distress
ing diseases which beset Hie Throat and Chest of
Childhood, it is invaluable; for, by its timely use,
multitudes arc rescued and restored to health.
This medicine gains friends at every trial, n
the cures it is constantly producing are too re
markable to bo forgotten. No family should ho
without it, and those Who have once used it
never will.
Eminent Physicians throughout the country

This Sarsaparilla is a combination of
vegetable alteratives Stillingia, Man
drake, Yellow Dock —with the lodides
of Potassium and Iron, and is the most
efficacious medicine yet known for
the diseases it is intended to cure.
•• Its ingredients are so skilfully com
bined, that the full alterative effect of
each is assured, and while it is so mild
as to be harmless even to children, it is
still so effectual as to purge out from the
system those impurities and corruptions
which develop into loathsome disease.
The reputation it enjoys is derived
from its cures, and the confidence which
prominent physicians all over the coun

of its usefulness.
Certificates attesting its virtues have
accumulated, and are constantly being
received, and as many of these cases are
publicly known, they furnish convincing
evidence of the superiority of this Sar
saparilla over every other alterative
medicine. So generally is its superi

\ve need do no more than to assure the
public that the best qualities it has ever
possessed are strictly maintained.

Ayer’s Pills ‘have been known for

They reach the vital fountains of the blood,

The composition of tho human hair lms
never been accurately pr satisfactorily de
termined. Chemical analysis has revealed
its main constituents, but, as it varies es
sentially in different persons, and in the
B*me person at different ago, it is impossi
ble todetermine with any accuracy exactly
wlmt quality is lacking where a person be
comes prematurely gray, or what prepara
tion is best suited to restore the natural
growth and vigor where the hair falls out
so as to produce baldness. Hence it is that
all artificial preparations have failed, in
some essentials at least, to meet the re
quirements of a perfect hair restorative.
There are a number of excellent dressings
and washings, and scores of preparations
that are either indifferent or positively in
jurious, and the great multiplicity of these
furnishes an argument in support of tbe
fact that there is something lacking in
them all. The new article, Cnrboline, con
tains all the qualities essential to a perfect
hair restorative, both as regards natural
color and a full, luxuriant growth. 'I he
basis of Cnrboline is petroleum, and in
that wonderful article, produced in Na
ture’s own laboratory, are properties which
the chemist’s art has not yet been able
to combine, and which act like magic upon
the scalp, t bo follicles, and tbe various ele
ments of which the hair is composed. 1™
use as a lmit’-dressing is the greatest <•'
modern discoveries, and there is no long l r
any reason why the prematurely gray
and the bald should not. at a trifling ex
pense, secure to themselves that most de
sirable and a‘tractive of all personal adorn
ments, a luxuriant and healthy growth of
hair. Sold by druggists.
