The secrets of newspaper advertising
l'es in the fact that the man who desires
to buy anything makes up bis mind be
fore lie leaves home and no amount of
truck exposed about store doors will
keep him from going where the papers
says lie will get the most for what he
wliislies to se'l, and where he will get
the Lest bargains in what he vvhishes to
buy. The newspapers advertiser get the
first chance at the purchaser, and if he
is at all a good business man, as the fact
that he advertises would prove, hr mak< s
a sale nine times out of ten. The in
creased sales pay the cost of advertising
ten times over.
We again present tlie suoject of house
buildings to our readers. We need more
dwellings, and if we expect our popula
tion to increase we must make prepa
rations to accommodate more people,
some of our citizens own unimproved
lots, on which they could build comfort
able cottages, and receive a big interest
on their money. We can have a thrif
ty town here., if those who are aide will
strike in the right direction. We hoard
a short time since that certains parties
were thinking ot building, and we hope
it mf.v prove true. We earnestly hope
that some one will make a move in this
direction, for wo could very soon double
our population if we had the necessary
accommodation. Wliat say you gen
tlemen.
