■'HE GAZETTE. I I yVig^:, I'• 1 - | RISING FAWN, GA.: rhursdav, Dec. HIS?, S*79 Mr. Edisoit proposes to light tire village f Mento Park, on Christmas eve with iis* electric light. Hon. A. 11. Stephens has boon pres ented for two or three da vs with a severe attack ot neuralgia of the stomach >lll was better on Sunday night, though ->till confined to his bed. lie hopad, how ever. to be seated in the House in a day or two. ■ There are a great many counterfeit nickel coins in circulation in this county. We would advise the merchants, and [farmers to keep a sharp lookout for [them, and be sure not receive nor at tempt to pass. Knowing they are coun terfeit does not relieve you from the pen alty of the law—don’t receive them at all. Mr. Hayes, renewed his nomination of McC'raiy, to he judge of the Eighth j Judicial Circuit. lie is the reputed author of Hayes’ first veto message. The Savannah News says: “If that be true, it affords no good reasons why the Democratic majority ot the senate should reward him with a life office and a fat salary.’' * Certainly not, neither do we belive the senate will reward him in that man lier. It is being urged by some, that Con gress should reduce the greenback cir culation by concellation, with the hope that such a measure would increase tl.o IVinocraffcv strength in the statu of New York, NXw Jersey and Connecti cut without deceasing it iiv the -south and west. Now is not the tiiHO, in our opinion to meddle with the financial question;! we ate doing tolerably well, and in a few years longer will have regained our anti belluin financial status. Rather than to reduce the greenback circulation, we would urge Congress to increase the issue of greenbacks to amount suffi cient to meet tho demands of trade. This increase of the greenback circula tion would strengthen the Democrats in the (South amt West, without a proportionate decrease in the East, WIIY ffll AA' I*I) R* IM RI- * ttVcf Exactly Itul h Inlcr “ estlng. Man perspires lecav.se perspiration be ing tlie watery portion ol ihe blood it, when discharged, carries outward with it all extraneous matters. The blood flows with intense and wonderful rapidty through every portion of your frame. In the course of an hour or two the whole mass of it goes through every pore. The limits given as to time may be questioned, because tbe qnanity of blood is supposed to b* much gcatcr than it is, instead of thirty pounds of blood in the body, there is not more than one-half, accoiding to tho experi ments ot Eishop of Munich. That blood lias to carry away the effete matter which results from each motions of tbe mind or of the body. Whilo depositing fresh fibre, it has to remote all poison. In fact, that blood, with its watery part, is washing the whole internal man every every instant of thne, or it is con* stantly repeating back upon him Lis own pollution. Well, apply a certain increase of temperature to that body, and instantly comes into operation that wonderful provision of natnic throhgh which that blood relaxes its watery parts, and with it discharges the whole of those poisonous matters. M ben a man makes an effort, tbe immediate consequence is persiration. The effort vs the purpose for which the cogine was created. You live and you act; your life is in your action; therefore the action it e el is the the purpose and aim of life. That action relaxes those fluid con tents of the blood. The same happens whenever you raise the femperatuic. Life is a chemical operation; it is being | pci formed every minutest subdivision of | time. Every human being on the fa •? !of tlr earth is inventing second by second, life. His existence depends up on a chemical r-, o: n which lie car ries on. Tle. •: operation, ’ike all others, is retoraci!ve. It is in chemisty as in dynamic If you discharge a broadside of shot into vour enemy’s vessel, there is an equal impingement on vour own, only yen parry the blow. While then.you are constantly producing the phenomena of life, yoti are as constantly producing tli elements of death. Death : the re action, poison is the recoil. You know your own breath will kill: there is not a more deadly poison; all that conic- from you kills. 1 be efftee matter of your own body is poison. The pollution of man is from himself—l from within, Thi* is the primary' sense of the Words of Christ, “It is that which cometh forth out of a man which detilad him.” If you impede—that is to soy, if you with the m.turnl facilities ot that organ by which that poison is to be carried j off a* rapidly as it is created, yon superin j duec a morbid condition of the frame, j It matters not in what manner it shows \ iself, whether it in in incomplete health or in positive disease. Inflammation is oiia of these results. When it is pro duced, it is itselfa disease, F roni I<r rga nriUc. lam sorrv for yourself and readers, and readily admit that you have been badly cheated by the exchange of “Jules” for “Jim,” but please throw this in with other disappointments incident to this life, and turn on your flow of philosophy and endure it as good soldiers. Peace and quiet r*ig*l over our village. Rev. Mack ( ampbcll preached yes terday from these words: “And as Mos- i cs lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, j so must the son of man he lifted up; j that whosoever believeth in Him should j not perish, but have eternal life.” He I preached well, as he always docs, and | by liis urbanity wins all hearts. Hi* preaching is very clear and strong, and by the eloquence of truth be is making a most profound impression upon the entire community. He implanted truths yesterday too deeply to be rooted out, and made an effort to awaken sinners to see tbeir danger and warned, them to.
