As Old Ccitom to b Revived.
The anointing of the head and bend
with perfumed oils was for centuries a
mark, of hospitality among the (Peeks and
Romans, ana in some inxtiatce* the most
expensive oils were usoSdbr that purpoea.
Guests and travelers hod their haw Mr
oiuted with olive oil, spikenard, myrrh,
or ostler preparations, and no doubt aa I
agreeable perfume pervaded the {.parUneni 1
when the hair dressing operation was eoto- J
pleted To this day it i* cotnteoa in the I
East for travelers to have their heads and
beards anointed with olive oil, and this eas
tern will undoubtedly be revived to the
West—even in the Far West —when the
virtues of Cakbouks are fully known and
appreciated. It not only has desirable
qualities aa a hair dressing, but in its re
markable virtues as a hair restorer it far
exceeds the spikenard or the myrrh of the
ancients. It is nowhere recorded thnt the
baldlioaded Greeks and Rouaus had their
shining pates covered with a luxuriant
growth of hair by the use of the oils com
mon among them, but it is demonstcMpd
that Carbonuts does work such wonWrs,
and in reviving the ancient custom of an
ointing the heads of those who visit ua, or
remain for a time as guests, we will not
only show our hospitality by copious dress*
ings of Cakbcuke, but in the case of those
who become bald and gray’ 6 can confer
everlasting obligations by “ putting a head
on them of which they need never be
ashamed. Cakbulikk io sold by ail drug
