Syrup at Home
Take* Rut a l>w momenta,

in a Hurry.
Cough medicines, as a rule, contain a
large quantity of plain svrup. If you
take one pint of granulated sugar, add
*■3 pint of warm water and stir about
2 minutes, you have as good syrup as
money could buv.
If you will then put 2*4 ounces of
Pinex (fifty rents’ worth! in a pint
bottle, and fill it up with the Sugar
Syrup, you will have as much cough
svrup as you could buy ready made for
*2.50. Take a teaspoonful every one,
two or three hours. It keeps perfectly.
You will find it one of the best cough
syrups you ever used —even in whooping
cough. You can feel it take hold—
usually conquers an ordinary cough in
24 hours. It is just laxative enough,
has a good tonic effect, and the taste
is pleasant.
It is a splendid remedy, too, for
whooping cough, spasmodic croup,
hoarseness and bronchial asthma.
l’inex is a most vaulable concentra
ted compound of Norway white pine
extract, rich in guaiacbl and other
healing pine elements. No other prepa
ration will work in this formula.
This plan for making cough remedy
with Pinex and Sugar Svrup is now
used in more homes than anv other
cough remedy. The plan has often been
imitated but never successfully.
A guaranty of absolute satisfaction,
or money promntlv refunded, goes with
this preparation. Your druggist has
Pinex, or will ret it for you. If not,

Maternal Instinct Greatly Developedby
Teaching Children to Love their Dolls.
The little child’s doll is mother to the
most romantic fancy. And in the years
that pass, the doll
fades into the petals
of a June rose, to (

Now comes a more
serious period when
the joy of real moth

tranquil as best effort can provide.
This is accomplished with a wonderful
remedy known as Mother's Friend, an ex
ternal application so penetrating in its nat
ure as to thoroughly lubricate eve 17 cord,
nerve, muscle and tendon involved.
There will be no pain, none of that nau
sea or morning sickness, no sensation of I
distress or strain of expanding muscles.
The nerves, too, will be calm, thus making
the period one of restful days and peaceful
nights.
Mother’s Friend is sold at all drug stores

MITCHELL WANTS AN
ENGLISH CHAMPION
Brighton, Eng—Charley Mitchell, the
veteran English heavyweight, although
sick at his home here, has not lost in
terest in the game. He says:
"The man who says the fighting in
stinct is dead in Great Britain is a
fool. The British so-called champ
ions have of late years been boosted
Into prominence; they have not fought
their way to the front. As soon as
they bumped into a man of any class
they were dropped out and made us
as a nation something of a laughing
stock for the world.”
Mitchell has an idea the best, wav
to go about finding British champions
is to get the best four men from ”im
land, Ireland, Scotland and Wales,
match them and pit the winner against
the world.
