for robbing and assaulting with id

attacked J A. Hosier, an Auburn
Avenue merchant, on the night of
December i.’7tli. Hosier was found
bruised and bleeding and unconscious,
and It was believed Ht first that he
would die wlthoat revealing the name

three days he regained conscious
ness and managed to Indicate that tt
was a negro, and then that tt was a
hack driver With these clues the <l‘
t retire arrested Bowen, who was
subsequently Identified bv the victim.

FOUND GUILTY

found guilty by the Jury, and will b«
brought before Judge Newman today

Judge Newman directed Chief Deputy
Marshal Brock to take charge of the
.prisoner, and within a half hour Mrs.
Blue was an Inmats of the woman's
«ard In the Fulton county Jail, within
speaking distance of her husband.

name offense in January last
Guilty on On* Count.
The found Mrs. Htoe guilty on
only the fourth count of the Indict
ment —the count charging her with
taking Annie Bond to Birmingham In
February, 181.1, for Immoral purposes,
the verdict being returned within 25
minutes after Judge Newman had
completed hta charge.
When the case was resumed yester
day morning the defense begun In
troducing evidence contradicting In
every detail the story told by Annie
Bond and the hotel registers present
ed by the prosecution. Mrs. Htoe came
to the witness stand, and In a state
ment covering forty minutes denied
the Bond girl's story, while admitting
the two had traveled over the country
together frequently.
Frank Haralaon opened for the do
fenae, and spoke for an hour and a
half, his address being Interrupted by
adjournment at 2 o'clock, and resum
ed when court reconvened at 3:30. He
was followed hy 1,. H. Foster, for the
defense also, who talked for three
quarters of an hour
Spoke Only Twenty Minutes.
District Attorney Alexander, for the
government, said all he had to aay
within twenty minutes, and a few tnln
utea after 5 o'clock the Jury retired,
after hearing Judge Newman's charge,
which was covered within fifteen min
utes.
Mrs. Stoe was calm when the Jury
came In, and. without showing the
least nervousness, heard tho reading
of the verdict, her eyes glued upon
the clerk's fide as he was reading the
sentence.
